Flipped Classroom

 

  • What misconception about flipped learning surprised you the most, and how did you address it in your video?

            What surprised me the most was the misconception that at-home content had to be a video. I addressed this in my video by describing how teachers could send home text, PowerPoint, etc., along with the possibility of sending home a video.

  • How does flipped instruction reflect constructivist or student-centered learning principles?

               Flipped instruction focuses on utilizing classroom time to allow children to explore and engage in hands-on learning. This reflects constructivism as it expresses how children obtain an understanding of the world through experiences and build a sense of autonomy when they are in control of their learning.

  • If you were to implement flipped learning in your own class, what would your biggest hurdle be—and how might you overcome it?

               The biggest hurdle would be ensuring that the content I send home is satisfactory enough for students to learn on their own and use in class the next day. Overcoming this would just come with time and slowly learning how to create small lessons for students to do at home that would be easily retainable and engaging.
